Water has no expiry date. But still. The container or bottle that holds water has an expiry date. After the denoted date, some harmful chemicals leach from plastic can into the water stored. Even though these chemicals are non-toxic, they will alter the taste and freshness of the water stored.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF PACKAGED WATER
There are some rules which are to be followed while transporting packed water from industry to a store. The can should be transported only in vehicles with closed container. The reason is that, direct sunlight exposure on the plastic can will lead to the leaching of BisPhenol A(BPA) which is a toxic chemical and can even lead to cancer.
