Pi (Ï€) is one of the important discoveries in the history of mathematics. Without Pi, the calculation of the area of circle and volume of several polygonal was a tedious process. The World Pi (Ï€) day is celebrated on March 14 every year. No wonder why it is celebrated on that day as the approximate value of Pi (Ï€) is 3.14.
March 14 is also the birthday of the famous physicists of all time, Albert Einstein.
Pi (Ï€) is a mathematical constant got when the Perimeter of a circle is divided by its diameter.
Pi (Ï€) has several other unique aspects other than the thing related to shapes. Here, you will find out several interesting facts about the symbol Pi (Ï€).

PI–A GREEK LETTER
The symbol Pi (Ï€) is a Greek letter. Though it has its origin from the Greek language, Greeks have not used it for mathematical calculations. The first known usage of Pi (Ï€) in mathematics was by the eminent scientist Archimedes in 287–212 BC. But it was defined by the British mathematician William Jones in 1706 and was popularized by the great Swiss mathematician, Leonhard Euler (Father of Geometry). Euler is the mathematician who has written several books describing Pi (Ï€) as it has a greater effect in the calculation of Perimeter, Area, and Volume of several shapes. He was also the first mathematician to account for the usage of ‘P’ for perimeter as the Greek alphabet Pi (Ï€) is a substitute for the English alphabet P.
VALUE OF Pi DISCOVERED WAY EARLY AROUND 476 A. D
The greatest Indian mathematician who calculated the value of Pi (Ï€) first was Aryabhata, the brain behind the invention of “Zero”. He calculated the approximate value of Pi (Ï€) as 3.14. It was amazing as Archimedes and Aryabhata are from two different origins, and yet they described this Greek alphabet and its value from two different parts of the world.
Pi–THE MAGICAL NUMBER
Pi (Ï€) is an irrational number, there is no sequence or repetition in the value of Pi in the decimal place, i.e. there is no exact numeral to describe the value of Pi (Ï€). The approximate value of Pi (Ï€) is 3.14 but the exact value is infinite.
There is also another cool fact associated with the value of Pi (Ï€) which is unique and fascinating. All the numbers you are dealing with, such as your mobile number, credit card number, debit card number, date of birth, lucky numbers, and all other numbers are found within the value of Pi (Ï€) with no change in sequence. You can find out at what place exactly your date of birth or any other numbers is available within the value of Pi from here. The longer the digits, the lesser the probability for it to occur within the first Million digits.
It is astonishing that with many scientific advancements we are struggling to solve a simple problem. But with no scientific tools, schools, and other facilities, these great minds could explore a greater area of Science.
