The Paranormal Research is the study of events that occur beyond normal experience or scientific explanations. Paranormal studies exist way back from several centuries when people began to think about the incidents that happens after death. In this scientific era, paranormal activities are only widely used as a content for taking movies, comedy prank shows etc. But thinking of the other side, there are still tribal communities out there in Africa who believe in ghosts and spirits and worship their ancestors. 

Do spirits really exist?

     Before starting, just try to answer this interesting question” What happens after we die?”, and I hope you may get answers after reading this post. There are three kinds of people, the first one believes in sprits and ghosts strongly, second one teases the first one and they hardly believe in paranormal activities and third one does not care about these facts. In case of a debate on the topic ‘Ghosts’, mostly traditional people stand by the side of ‘Ghosts’ for they have seen or experienced ghosts in real life (according to them), while most of the modern generation people says there is no spirit. But the reality is nobody till now has a clear definition about spirits.

     “If God exists, then spirits also do exist” is a famous saying. Yet there are several atheists (people who doesn’t believe in God) and scientists who defy the above quote and claim that there are no spirits alive in this world. 

What is actually a ‘Spirit’?

According to the religious persons and theologists, A spirit is the invisible part of a human body which is ‘immortal’ and leaves one’s body after their death. There are several debates occurring between the persons who believe the existence of ‘Spirit’. Some of them are, the Communication of spirit and with the spirit, the accessibility of spirit with humans who are alive, The residential places of spirits, The activities of spirits etc. 

But all the believers are 100% sure that a Spirit is not a Demon or Ghost. Yet they state that ‘Ghost is some what similar to spirit but it is a demonized form of spirit and has bad motto’.  And as usual, even this statement has several positive and negative feedbacks.

Feeling of being watched or starred by a person

When we are alone in our home, we may experience a feeling that someone or something is near us. Sometimes we even imagine that somebody is starring at us. This feeling or sensation normally arises after watching a haunted movie or after hearing haunted stories. We name this feeling as ‘Ghost’ feeling as we tend to name the factors for which we cannot get answers as ‘Alien factor’ or ‘God factor’ or ‘Ghost factor’ (the name changes with the situation). But the psychologists group them all under a single category, Illusion. They state that our brain creates some illusion when we are alone and that causes unnecessary fear.

Distinct sounds at night

There are several cases dealt by psychologists where people hear ‘murmuring’ voices and weird sounds at night. But scientists turned that down and claim that during night time, our ears have the ability to tune-up the sounds owing to the quiet environment. Another study states that the reason the cracking and weird sound is due the moist atmosphere in the environment at night. This cooler environment reduces the resistance for propagation of sound waves and even minimal sound can be propagated effectively to the receiver.

Sleep Paralysis 

There are several interesting ghost stories related to the immobilization of human body when the ghost is around yet I would like to mention the popular story, “Dear David”. In this story, the narrator says that at midnight he was able to see a boy, with a dent-head, sitting on a green rocking chair starring at him. He also adds up that he was totally immobilized (paralyzed) at that time and can only see what’s happening around him. Yet he added that he could talk with that boy and the boy responded for his questions!

         This incident in one among several cases where body paralysis occurs and the scientists doesn’t consider it to be ‘Ghost interaction’. But they term it as Sleep paralysis,  and this happens when a person wakes up while he is dreaming (during the Rapid Eye Movement stage). Nearly 40 persons out of 100 persons deal with this type of incident and it surely will be a frightening. It has been evident from the studies that the one who has more fear of ghosts will be the one who frightens the most at Sleep paralysis. This is just a temporary paralyzed state and not the activity of Ghost.

Speaking about fear that most people experience, it is evident that ‘Fear of Death’ captures the mind of most people which paved way for several spirit theories.

What happens when we die? 

     One of the world’s unsolved mysteries for which we don’t have any answers yet. There are two major theories regarding this. First one states that, “Nothing happens”, i.e. just like other animals, when we die our body would be switched off and then we get buried under the mud and microbes in the mud feast on our body. 

     The second theory is about spirits and God. Many of the paranormal experts researched and found that there were spirits with the help of their EMF meters. The traditional belief is that, if we die as a good person in the society, we will reach the heaven, the residence of God. And if we die as a bad person, we will be pushed into the hell. But the paranormal experts believe that when one dies with unfinished deeds or desires that he/she strongly wished to do, his/her soul doesn’t reach God and roams around the place till his/her desires are fulfilled. 

So, are there any scientific experiments which support Spirit theory? Yes. One such theory is given below. 

21 grams experiment

     Duncan MacDougall, a physician wanted to find the weight of the soul scientifically, and started the experiment he took 6 patients from the nursery who are all about to die and weighted them. He saw that all the six had reduced their weight by 21 grams. And finally, he concluded that there is soul and its weight is 21 grams in his experiment.

      21 grams experiment, Ouija board experiment, etc. stands on the side of spirits. At the same time there are more criticism on these experiments.

From all these things, we can conclude that we should not fear death and should continue to pursue good deeds. One will surely find the answers for these questions at the end of their lives. But after finding them, they cannot publish the answers.
